The Forest Carbon Group is committed to meet the highest international standards related to our reforestation and forest conservation projects. These standards - Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), Climate, Community and Biodiversity Alliance Standard (CCBA) and Gold Standard - implement widly adopted principles of corporate social and environmental responsibility with regard to positive impacts on climate change mitigation, biodiverstiy, ecosystem services and livelihoods of local communities.
Compliance with these standards is regularly verified by independent auditors. Besides these project development and management standards, Forest Carbon Group acts in accordance with qualitiy criteria manifested in the Green Carbon Guidebook of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), and five principles for REDD+ established by organizations WWF, Greenpeace und Care.
The Forest Carbon Group aims for reducing its own carbon footprint. As an worldwide operating company, most of our emissions are caused by business travels. Therefore, we try to travel in a smart way, go by train and public transport if possible. We calculate our corporate carbon footprint every year, and offset unavoidable greenhouse gas emissions.
To make sure that our products and processes are sustainable and eco-friendly, we are about to introduce an in-house environmental management system.
The Forest Carbon Group is member of the UN Global Compact, a strategic initiative for companies committed to align their businesses to the ten accepted principles for human rights, environmental protection, job safety and anti-corruption efforts. As a member of B.A.U.M. e.V. (Bundesdeutscher Arbeitskreis für Umweltbewusstes Management e.V.), a leading environmental business initiative in Europe, FCG has signed up to the B.A.U.M. code of conduct for sustainable corporate governance.
